Detroit Guides is an independent local guide to Detroit, MI. We build one thing carefully: a complete, accurate, genuinely useful record of the businesses, events and neighborhoods that make Detroit worth spending time in.

Every listing on this site is a real business. We do not invent places, ratings or reviews. If a detail isn't verified yet — hours, a photo, a summary — we leave it blank rather than guess. When we show a Google rating we label it as a Google rating and attribute review excerpts to their author and source.

Our rankings are computed, not sold. Advertising appears in clearly labelled sponsored positions that sit outside the ranked order, and paying for one never moves a business up a list. You can read exactly how our rankings work on How we rank.
